OUR School

Churchill Academy is a unique, supportive environment with individualized academic programming for grades K-12. Our academy has a low student-teacher ratio, tailored learning programs, remedial programming, and behavior management techniques teach to students' strengths and address their weaknesses. We provide detailed biannual progress reports, training seminars, and other activities which foster parent involvement.
Our Mission
Churchill Academy strives to define success individually within the structure of a supportive, nurturing environment focusing on the uniqueness of the learner’s social, emotional, and academic needs; resulting in students demonstrating self-advocacy and reaching their academic potential.
Our History
Churchill Academy was founded in 1996 in order to educate the many children in Montgomery and the surrounding areas with unique learning needs. In 1996 St. Mark United Methodist Church, located on Taylor Road, served as the birthplace of Churchill Academy. Churchill moved to a new location, in Vaughn Plaza beginning the 1998-1999 school year. This location accommodated increased enrollment and allowed for additional programs such as the Churchill Center ForLearning. In the 2002-2003 school year, the High School was added to the program. We first opened the doors to our Ray Thorington building August of 2003. The new campus accommodated the Churchill Academy High School and gave us a space we could call our own. Churchill Academy became a non-profit at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year. The school moved to its current location in July of 2025 and now has a new home at 3265 McGehee Road, Montgomery, AL 36111.
